Consultancy

I define this as one-off tasks with specific outcomes, often at high level and time-constrained. Consultancy work relies upon a broad understanding of IT issues, credibility at all levels in an organisation, very good communication skills and the imagination to see where an organisation could get to, given the right business processes and supporting systems. Examples of consultancy work undertaken are:

  • Defining an enterprise database strategy for a government agency
  • Remodelling workflow to expose new markets for commercial surveyors
  • Unifying contacts and prospects data for commercial surveyors
  • Linking NHS and social care systems for a local authority
  • Defining financial interfaces for evaluating Social Care budgets
  • Developing a business case for Sustainable Social Care, focusing on early intervention to encourage desirable outcomes.
