NHS SID Data Mesh
Whilst in the role of Programme Data Architect for the Our Care Connect Programme, I moved the main pseudonymised data holding (the Sussex Integrated Dataset or SID) from a monolithic, centralized architecture to a federated, decentralized data mesh. This allowed data to be gathered by more teams, more quickly, fitting into a specially constructed interoperability model.
- Developed all standards for data domain teams and interoperability standards
- Established the first data domain teams and established a pattern for extension and growth at pace
- Lead the use of Agile as a development methodology
