I have been working with Java since 2000. I developed an interest in OO technology whilst working for a Government Agency during the late 1990s and have carried this on in working for an estate agent internet start-up. To this end I gained Sun Programmer Certification for the Java 2 Platform in 2001.
I have a lot of experience developing JSP’s and servlets within an Apache/Tomcat environment. Examples of some specific requirements are:
- develop additional tools for JBuilder
- parsing XML files for data import
- constructing configurable web trawling utilities
- building daemon processes for automatic data state transitioning
I’ve also done a lot of work with AWT and Swing and have some experience of Struts and Spring.
Most of the Java developments I’ve worked on have used eXtreme Programming as a development methodology and I’m particularly interested in the application of JUnit to unit test Java classes and ANT to enable consistent cross-platform deployments.
