Carefirst

Carefirst and Eclipse

I have extensive experience in developing reporting functionality for OLM´s social care product CareFirst, in both client server and web-based environments. I have produced bespoke outputs in various versions of Oracle Reports and Business Objects, feeding into pdf, xml, excel and word formats. I have also produced numerous functions to transfer data to and from the Carefirst schema, for example linking health to social care databases via the regular mass import of NHS identifiers. I´ve been able to support the introduction of central government policy by providing targeted and timely bespoke reporting functionality. I am also part of the technical team introducing Eclipse as a replacement system for Carefirst

Examples of functionality provided include:

  • Chronologies of casenotes, life events and activities, outputting to Word via XML (i.e. not text boxes) thereby enabling proper manipulation of the document thereafter
  • Upgrading all Oracle reporting to BOXi using existing Oracle database packages (call in BOXi via pipes) to provide consistent data gathering functionality…[read more about this]
  • Numerous outputs to assist with Monthly Monitoring processes for both Adults and Childrens Services
  • Mass data loading of NHS and Pupil identifiers (to allow government-wide reporting) using unix scripting and SQL*Loader
  • Reports to calculate indicative and actual charges to Homecare clients with or without declared needs.
